I'd be very surprised if he has. There have been no 'leaks' to boost viewing figures - this always happens when a major character leaves - and no media interviews.

David often has long breaks from Corrie but usually just goes off screen without comment

He'll be back. Well I hope so. Corrie would be awful without him.

No, he's not left. Such a major character would leave with much more of a fanfare than that. I was disappointed at his final scenes though, no hug for Nina, no telling her he loves her, just left her standing there distraught !

Severl people on Twitter have said David is taking a break to do theatre work (he has done that before), but this scene was filmed around 12 weeks ago and I can't find any promo for him appearing in any show.

I also think working as a chef in a hot kitchen in an even hotter country won't do him any favours at his age !!
