In Sainsbury's where much the beef would be..." these products are not available right now. We apologise for any inconvenience ". That's one example...there was more.
Are you seeing shortages where you are?

I didn't go down that aisle Shirley...I got mine in Iceland yesterday.
Maybe 3/4 of the beef had gone AWOL...
Shock, horror. Don’t panic, don’t panic. Said in corporal Jones voice.
Morrison's have had none of their lemonade for a week. I managed to get some Schweppes but it's three times the price. That was the only shortage I noticed although some of the shelves were sparsely filled.
I've read quite a lot today about shortages, Pasta. I wondered if what I was reading was right and if anyone would post about it.
Yes a lot of shortages.
The word is a lot of it is caused by Brexit issues, rather than staff shortages due to self-isolation. I don't know if that is right.
I don't think the shortages have anything to do with panic-buying, more delivery problems.
I last went to a supermarket on Monday and there were no shortages at all then.

ich - I thought it WAS down to staff shortages.
It is staff shortages compounded also in cases by a shortage of truck drivers:
this from CNN:

" ...Another major supermarket chain, Sainsbury's (JSAIY), said it was "working hard to ensure customers can find what they need." A spokesperson for grocery chain Co-op said it was "running low on some products" but "working closely with our suppliers" to restock shelves.
The rising virus caseload — and subsequent increase in the number of isolating workers — is also exacerbating a shortage of truck drivers caused in part by Britain's exit from the European Union.
Worker shortage is forcing UK businesses to close as Covid cases spike

Rod McKenzie, managing director of policy and public affairs at the Road Haulage Association (RHA), said the United Kingdom is facing a shortage of around 100,000 truck drivers, 20,000 of whom are EU nationals that left the country after Brexit. He said that increased red tape at border crossings following Brexit was also putting European drivers off making trips into the United Kingdom.
"If the 'pingdemic' hadn't happened we'd still be in trouble," he told CNN Business."
That's what I read, Ich. Staff are saying they have had reduced hours as there is less for them to do in some affected places. That's not good to hear.
None.
No meat or fish in Poundland the last few days...
Bought myself a few toilet rolls instead!
(You never know)?

I too thought I'd was a combination of issues, and it was certainly being predicted in the news several weeks ago. It doesn't seem to be in all areas though.
It's got sod all to do with Brexit, and even if it did the odd shortage here and there is but a small price to pay.
Canary’s confused again.
If people think there’s food shortages then panic buying wouldn’t be far off.
Seems to be a few pockets of areas are without a few pockets of things,
No one is going to starve, no one is going to go without for long....
Unless you believe the Sun.
