Aphid Treatment

What are the proportions for making an aphid treatment using washing up liquid and water or is there anything else better other than buying an insectocide. Thanks

Hi genie, I don't understand your distinction between soapy water (a preparation that kills insects) and an insecticide (a preparation that kills insects). Why is one better than the other?

as far as im aware the soapy water is preferred as there's no secondary poisoning to other insects / birds that would eat the aphids.

you cld try neem oil

Altho - ive tried soap n water and also the neem and unfortunately found chemical to be the best solution

All I do is give them a sharp blast from a high pressure hose.
