It has been announced that three men have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, over the tragic Leicester explosion.
But the question I need to ask, is it wrong for anyone to speculate the reason for the explosion since little information as yet been released.
By anyone I mean anyone no matter who they are.

Maybe the lesson here is to never speculate unless you have the facts first ;)
The arrests were mentioned on the other thread.

But to answer your specific question , curiosity is human nature and as such we speculate - is it wrong? Probably not but futile really.

Use your imagination and there could be many possible explanations.
I believe that the police have already said they have ruled out terrorism.
It's not disgusting to suggest it was bomb factory given the location, the lack of information from the authorities and the constant trying to hide the fact when it is.

Of course it may well turn out to be something else but if it is then Plod need to get their act together and say so - quick.

"Leicestershire Police has said multiple times that there is no evidence to link the incident to terrorism at this stage."

So they are not saying is isnt.
I'd far rather they concentrated on the matter than wasted time satisfying my curiosity.
Ymb,

Some of you ladies seem a little coy. I wonder how many of you can honestly say that when you have witnessed an incident or been privileged to a little local gossip, you have not yourselves done your fair share of speculating.
AOG...I don't do gossip. Brought up in a pub you get to know about gossip.
Quite happy to have a gossip or speculate face to face with friends/family but unlike those in the link I wouldn't rush into print.
I imagine the speculation will, in the main, be travelling in one direction only.....

Speculation betwixt friends and family is one thing, making thinly veiled comments, all 'hint-hint, nuge-nudge' on t'interweb forums is quite another.

I think I'll wait for a formal statement before I start polishing the tines on my pitchfork...

oh yes I'm coy!
gottle of geer gottle of geer....

yo have to speculate on half facts as soon as s/o is charged then discussion is restricted. - and limited to who ? and the charges, and possibly the court date

Yeah I thought that the triperoxiacetone TPA or whatever had been rendered unstable and blown those naughty people to smithereens. Not true apparently, and I think it is justified to ask 'OK then what?'

Houses mysteriously blowing up- used to occur in the Irish troubles thirty years ago

oh just in case
if you want a body count - you count the prostates and uteruses. They are hardly ever vapourised in an explosion.
I felt you needed to know

The attitude of those who lambasted Nick Griffin and Katie Hopkins, speaks volumes of why the authorities are reluctant to suggest terrorism or even the ethnicity of the perpetrators, unless they are white indigenous.
OK.
thank you PP....one of those things one often wonders about.....
The Authorities tend to wait until they are in full possession of all the facts before they make any statements.

Nick Griffin and Katie Hopkins......LoL.....is that the best you can do?
Hopkins and Griffin those pillars of community!
I don't think it is wrong for anyone to speculate, though if they wish to be taken seriously they don't want to be wrong too often.

I don't think it is wrong for for anyone to lambast someone for speculating either should they question the motive, it's all just the same freedom of speech.
