Sorry Toorak I'm not with this. Previous you said that the first 'I' (holiday camp) was at 3D which puts MAI TAI at 12A but there is no 'A' in Politico

It seems the above confusion is caused by the orientation of the completed grid. I now have such grid but cannot seek out the two clues that the instructions say will help me orientate correctly. Automatic scours as we locals say!
