That's stupid (5); 9a: BBC programme starting five minutes ahead of Italian (4,2); 11a: Stacks fruit for carriage (8); 15a: Boy kept £25 for place name (7); 18a: Passing with complete final document? (5,7) 2d: Award for king, one worn in bed? (10); 4d: Robber's disguise when on the run? (8,4); 14d: Cynical spin, nearly took risks (9).

Don't get the wordplay for 4d
More or less an 'and lit' clue - guess a stocking could get a run but otherwise just self explanatory.

I agree with that. There is no wordplay.
Didn't ladies' silk stockings always seem to get ladders ( runs) in the old days. I think they put nail varnish on them to try to stop them.

Still not a satisfactory clue in my book. I get the definition and the connection with run but there is still no word play to lead us to the answer.

The lightbulb has just come on. Stocking masks were the forerunner of ski masks, worn on the (ski) run. Should have put a shilling in the meter earlier!
