Stuck on last 2 of a crossword which seems to have been designed for Americans rather than Europeans!

34 acr. "Cleric's not stumped about broadcast." (7) ?R?S??? (Arizona is, of course, spelt with a Z.)

17, 24. "x" (5,2,5) H?A?T ?f ?I??? Must be "Heart of Something" but what?

Can someone please put me out of my misery.

34a Prairie - 'prie(st)' (not st[umped], about) 'air' (broadcast)
17a, 24d Heart of Dixie - what 'x' is

(Both themed answers)
34a: PRAIRIE
prie(st) outside 'air'

17,24: HEART OF DIXIE
and X is the middle letter of the last word
Yr S in 34 ac is wrong (change Elsie to Elise & u'll get another state name.
Heart of - put an x in the middle of third word.

Many thanks. I had originally put Elise but then changed it to Elsie. Heart of Dixie - another Americanism!
Merry Christmas.
given the theme of the crossword, Americanisms are not surprising
