What does that actually mean? What would you have to do to get your product thus endorsed? and when the queen dies, will everyone have to petition the king to give the same endorsements?

It means thi bednobs....

Royal warrants of appointment have been issued for centuries to those who supply goods or services to a royal court or certain royal personages. The warrant enables the supplier to advertise the fact that they supply to the royal family, so lending prestige to the supplier. In the United Kingdom, grants are currently made by the three most senior members of the British Royal Family to companies or tradesmen who supply goods and services to individuals in the family.

Poundstretcher for queenie visit.
It's an incredibly arduous process to get a warrant - convincing various Palace committees that you are worthy and honourable/ethical - then when you get through this, the respective Royal has the final say and say they do, apparently.

Charge peppercorn rates ;(
do they still have a Mole Taker?

Chalres already gives royal warrants so I suppose if he became king they'd just stay on. But they'd be "by appointment to King Charles" rather than "to the Prince of Wales". And the queen's ones would lapse.
I believe Fortnum & Mason is her favourite shop. There was a TV programme about this a while ago, very interesting it was too.
I find it interesting that DHL holds a Royal Warrant. It suggests that the Royal Household doesn't trust Royal Mail with their parcels!
