the iron was always a good one you sneaky girl you
Hold it over the kettle!  But careful you don't scald your fingers on the steam.  And make sure you've got a glue stick to reseal it afterwards.

Thank you! I am eternally in your debt
go on tell us what was in it!!
Can you not put it in another envelope instead?
Question Author
Alas, my plan failed; my father walked in while the still soggy envelope containing my school report was in my hand...
a ha notice how weaza got all the tips before you were told that it was his report lol.
Was it a good or bad report?

It was alright... thankfully my English teacher decided not to inform my parents that during his lesson i informed him that, in my opinion, literature should be enjoyed, not forced upon, and that, to be honest, a couldn't give a monkey's balls as to what Angel Clare feels about Tess of the D'urbervilles. He kept it short and sweet, with a "Louisa has showed interest in all reading topics (so that's what you'd call it?) but her exam result was disappointing." Disappointing! 76% is quite good, isn't it?! He is so never getting his copy of Romeo and Juliet back...

Well weaza, I think 76% is pretty good too!!  And I can't help agreeing with you about literature not being forced on you!  I also think that your teacher probably did understand where you were coming from!

When I was at that stage at school, I found it hard to analyse the deep underlying meanings in novels, but that's something that I think, in time, falls into place, especially the more you read.

Hope your Dad was suitably impressed with the rest of what he read!

Glad someone agrees, ceebee!

I think my dad was fine with the rest of it, to be honest. As the man who revised for Geography during his O Level Maths paper, he can hardly judge. He did ask curiously whether I had fallen out with my english teacher but a part from that all went smoothly.

glad all went well with school report with reference to your question you can easily open an envelope by gently lifting one end slip a pencil (not writing end) or a pen under and then roll it along the envelope this works very well if you want to keep an envelope and letter or as you wanted can easily seal with glue stick. I hope this is informative to you and anyone else good luck.
