But did you read all of it - this gunk it last appeared when there was a meteor shower in the 14th century - and on saturday evening there was a meteor shower over Somerset!!

According to today's DT it has been identified as glyco-protein. It is probably unfertilised frogspawn ejected when a frog has been attacked (such as by herons).
