Re my earlier question about 14AC - I tried to amend this entry but it would not let me so here goes again - Play at Headingly remained with one Knight replacing another - I had thought LAIN (1 night) but it could also be LAIK (1 Knight) meaning play but in either case I dont get the wordplay - Kayakamina, Lie-in-King where are you I really could do with your input here

I can't solve the wordplay, but I much prefer Laik. I've been trying to put some letters on the end of LA, meaning knight to make something to do with "Headingley remained". Not much help I know.

I think that the reference to Headingly in the clue is not necessarily to mean cricket but to indicate a Yorkshire connection.
LAIK is a word used in Northern England to mean to play.
