Hi - I drive a Golf Match FSI 115. I need to provide some tyre info on the car ie width, profile and rim for tyre fitment.

The info written on the side of my current tyres says ...R15 91H 195/65. I can't seem to find anything in the manual so I'm not sure what these figures mean. Can anyone help me find the right info for the three measurements please. Thanks very much :-)

195/65 x 15" R rated.
OK for 5 1/2 - 7" rim widths.

That was quick, thank you. The tyre diagram is sort of smudged Toureman, sorry. The chart I have to fill in needs three measurements, width, profile and rim. But I can't figure out what's what. Does R15 mean rim? and what's profile when it's at home? Sorry to be pesky.

I think I've sorted it out now, thanks very much for your help. Happy motoring.
R15 91H 195/65 explained:

R means that it's a radial tyre
15 means that it fits a 15" rim
91 is the load rating (which is actually a maximum of 615kg per tyre)
H is the speed rating (up to 210 km/h = 130 mph)
195 is the width of the tyre, in mm
65 is the profile of the tyre, expressing the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width. (i.e. it tells you that the height of the sidewall = 65% of 195mm = 126.75mm)

It was more about which measurement was which to be honest. But I apologise for not thanking you personally AlBags. I hadn't realised you were offended by that, so sorry. I try and help people too and I'm not sure I've ever had any personal thanks, just a general thank you to everyone from the poster. But I'll make a note that that obviously isn't good form as far as you're concerned. Once again I apolgise.

Sorry Buenchico I didn't get an email for your posting.

I sorted myself out in the end, thank you all for your help.
