bought a pair of boots via Ebay at 4.10pm yesterday, they were waiting for me when I got home at 3.30pm today - perfect fit and just brilliant - now that's what I call service.
Boo it's an equestrian supply place - even with the postage (which was very reasonable) I still saved £40 on the boots. Am really chuffed.
Very droll JonnyBoy :-)
Some great things to be had on Ebay - I buy a lot of Autograph and Per Una (M&S) stuff off there at greatly reduced prices. I have lots to sell - must start the ball rolling and get on with it, I'm just a bit nervous!
Does e-bay charge for using the site? Never attempted to buy or sell, because my daughter got ripped off buying a watch on there, not e-bay's fault - the seller.
ayg I've bought lots on ebay and haven't had any problems - have never sold anything but believe there is a small 'listing' charge but am not sure what it is. There are also free listings offers.
Ann86 - I like per una stuff, must have a look.
Noticed yesterday, against the sun, that I had a dreaded chip on the windscreen (no ping of a stone or anything so I presume a conker or a branch given the nature of the divot). Get back at 11.45, phone the insurance co in Truro and by 12.45, there was a representative of the glass co out here. By 1300, job done, inc filling in a second small chip. Cost: wee tip, the rest on the insurance...
I am going to seek their website and compliment them, copy the Cornish Mutual who provide the insurance......when good service has been rendered, recognition ought to follow......also it helps tee up when you do complain, if you have to.
They charge a listing fee but if you start the price at 99p it is usually nothing. Then there is something like 10 percent taken from the final sale price if it sells. I find it great for getting rid of stuff and am amazed at all the countries in the world that contact me about buying, as far afield as New Zealand, USA and all parts of Europe.
I do a lot of shopping on eBay now and I buy most of our clothes as well as tools, car parts, DVDs etc. I don't buy individual items from private sellers but I use eBay shops that I've used before or which have good ratings.
I've never had any trouble at all. The service is fast and efficient and products are usually far cheaper than in the shops - sometimes as much as 50% so.
I once took a book I sold on Amazon to someone's house as it wasnt far from where I live. This was within an hour or two of him buying it. He didnt show any surprise at all or leave me any feedback!
