Just recently my printer wouldn't print on command, until I realised, after a while, that one ink cartridge had run out.As I don't have the need to replace one frequently I can see in the future that I will again forget why my printer won't work(old age!!!).Is there a way of getting a signal when one runs out?????Thanks!!!

Doesn't the fact that it won't print act as a reminder?
Install the software that came with the printer. That should warn you when the ink is low.

Hi 123 that sounds logical BUT if I didn't suss it out straight away this time why would I remember in the future when I'm even further in gagaland???
Wildwood my printer software was only XP friendly in some respects and I now have Vista!!! Thanks to you both.
stick a post it note on it saying
"if not printing, check ink"
Not all will tell you when ink is low or run out

There is probably an updated vista version.
Have a google for '*printer make and model* vista'.
