I watched it this afternoon for about the 20th time (I've also got the D.V.D.) and it still makes me cry.How sad am I.

Not sad at all one of the best films ever made
Not sad at all. It is Mrs MM favourite drama. It makes her cry too.
Super film...brings a tear every time...

wee boy is evacuated during ww2 ends up in a billet with John Thaw who is a grump to begin with,,,turns out wee boy has been badly abused...john thaw's heart melts and a really nice relationship grows into a deep love/respect...there..in a nutshell...

I remember the first time I watched it, I caught myself welling up.

My gruff father in-law watches it everytime it's on ... and we bought the dvd for him. One of the only ones he's ever shown an interest in.
lol jubianna when the sad parts come on i go into the kitchen to make a cup of tea..got to keep up appearnces in front of the kids and that you know lol...
