Does anyone else think that it's a bit hypocritical for society to judge and look down on your average joes for taking recreational drugs on a night out but then, the same people turn around and claim they love a certain bands music, when half the songs that band ever wrote and recorded was done while thay were mashed off their faces on coke or whatever. Naming no names, but we all know it's happened/happening. By the way, this is not an anti drug rant.

Drugs are too dangerous to be taken lightly like that. People who are against drugs aren't just being critiical you know, they really care for others and know how people's lives can be destroyed. You'll find the majority of people who voice their opinion have lived this through a close member of family or friend.
Recreationa drugs are a danger, not just to the taker, but others as well, especially if the taker is in employment.

I work for London Underground. and we have random Drugs ans Alcohol tests, if someone is found positive, (drugs), they are sacked instantly, and quite right, and thats just one workplace.

As far as music is concerned, unfortunately, standards have slipped, and I agree with what you say.

Look people, I'm not talking about drugs as a problem in society. My specific problem goes like this. Some guy says "You shouldn't be taking drugs, they mess up your mind" while at the same time he's listening to an (e.g Oasis) album, saying how brilliant the music is. Let's not mess about, more than half of that album was probably created through drug useage.
if it was the first two oasis albums all of it was on drugs - that is why 3rd and 4th not so good as Noel got clean (er). I think people should be allowed to do what they want as long as it doesnt interfere with anyone else
Just Google for a transcript of Bill Hicks' routine 'Rockers Against Drugs'. Argument closed - even though it's from 1991.
Question Author
I was kind of talking about the older generations hypocritical opinions, so it would probably relate to beatles music etc.

Of course they did. Like the Mods and Rockers on Bank Holidays in Brighton were 'just tripping'... Sheesh!
ecstasy has never been associated with violence and that has huge impact on music from mid 80's?
Question Author
Triggerhappy, that's what I'm talking about? How can it just be ok in their day but not ours. And I would say violence is more associated with alcohol than it is with drugs.
