I'm a muslim and I was raised to believe that "day of judgement" is the day you die.

My Grandad fought & died for our Country in WW1. He has never been in tough with us to say how he's getting on, or if he was ever rewarded, not that he would have expected reward. So is there any truth in any of that? How can anyone prove it?

I like to think all my deceased family & friends are up in Heaven, but we don't really know that do we?

I suspect it my be very difficult for folk who died before Christ was around to find their way into heaven. JC said that no-one comes to the Father except through him. The Christian judgment day is, as I understand it, the end of history - a day yet to come when all the dead will be raised and re-united with their physical bodies (Yuk - Dawn of the Dead indeed!) - even those who were cremated (will they look 'ashen'?). And there wil be so many who died before the commandments were handed down, before the Bible was written, who will say "But we didn't know!!!". God will say 'No excuse - you're out!".
Its a matter of belief systems isn't it.
