Don't get an led one!
oooh LED would look cool lol

I think the usual rule of thumb is over 42" get a plasma, under get LCD.

Thats a big TV though, i hope your room is big enough? We have a 42" and it looks massive in out lounge
Take into consideration that you can't lay or tilt a plasma tv so you have to keep it upright from the store to your house and into its position gina hun .
Ooo , a 50 inch , nice .we have a 42 and it seems big enough but depends how big your room is I guess. :-D
ours is about 42 and will be fine for HD but to be honest it's so big that it often makes some non-HD telly look grainy. I don't think, until the whole world is hi-definition, I'd want anything bigger.
Mine is a 46" Panasonic (with a built in digi box) but you need a big room, more so for a 50". My room measures 5m by 5 m and it would have esily taken the size you want. But the cost did not allow this. I was lucky that there is a sky aerial installed in this block of flats so I can receive any new freesat channels which come on air. If you buy one without the digibox installed the set will be a lot cheaper. With the set I have you do not need a seperate box but you cannot receive sky.
