where does the phrase 'Ann Twacky' meaning old fashioned originate from?

It's possibly a corruption of 'antique' and apparently common in the Manchester area. If you click here, that will link you to a web-page which deals with Mancunian words/phrases. Once there, scroll down to the section headed "From Nigel Doran".

I'd expected Ann Twacky to have been a real person from the liverpool area. Thanx anyhow, even though it wasn't what i'd wanted to hear.
