During a fox hunt (boo hiss!) "Tally-Ho" is the cry when someone sees the fox and is signalling to everyone to chase after the unfortunate creature.

In general parlance it has come to mean the start of a headlong dash. In America it also means a fast horse drawn coach.
I believe that it originates in the french language "il est haut" meaning "he (the fox) is up and running" Like Hippy, I would like to add a boo hiss
