sacked?
Twin sacks ?
'Sacked' as a word? Supposedly it's because craftsmen would carry their own tools, work clothing and other necessary items in a sack. When their work was no longer wanted they would be 'given the sack ' and escorted off the place of work.
Sacked, as in the past tense of the verb "to sack", is a term used in the sport of North American football. If this was the context in which you heard the term, let me know, and I'll explain further what it means. Without getting into too much detail right now, it refers to the quarterback of one team being tackled by a defensive player of the opposing team, before the quarterback has thrown the ball, during a play. The defense would want to do that, because doing so will end the offensive play.
Or, in simpler terms, it could just mean tackling someone or throwing someone to the ground, in a sport, or a physical altercation / fight.
sacked as in overthrown. i.e. William Wallace and his scots following sacked York
derogatory slang term for bedding a woman
What about if you have just been in the sack or hit the sack with a loved one? Does that mean you have been sacked?
I heard it came from the habit of a Turkish sultan of taking members of his harem who no longer pleased him and putting them in the Bosphorus - in a sack. Sadly I can only find references to Fred Puli's rather less colourful explanation.
