I think it was simply the made-up name of a 'friend' of the late Larry Grayson:

Thanks saxy_jag thats what we thought but hoped there was somthing more.
He also had a friend called Everhard (spl?) - his stories of Slack Alice and others were very comical
I think most of Larry's 'friends' were people he knew or saw around his home town.

"Ooh! Look at the muck in here!"
Or "shut that door", as well.
He and Les Dawson used overheard gossip as a fount of tears of innocent fun.
How different from the crap that's around now.
