Can anyone help? I frequently heard my holiday neighbour calling his dog (sounds like) Jaakov. So, I started to call the dog this too. Then I found out the dog was called something completely different and I worry about what I was saying as I passed their house! Can't work out on Spanish-English translation pages cos don't really know what the word was! Would be pleased to receive any help!

Not to worry... Jaakov Isn't an insult or anything like that... It's a name. I.E. "Jaakov Berkovitch". I think your best option is to just casually ask your neighbour what his dog is called... and then why he calls it Jaakov.
