Try:

Cave canem - Beware of the dog

No? To flippant? Then try:
Cogito ergo sum - I think therefore I am
or...

Dictum sapienti sat est - The said is enough for the wise. Or, simply, understandable for a wise one without the need for explanations...

"Carpe Diem" ( seize the day ) is one of my mottos ! Not very original, but nice all the same.
Nil satis nisi optimum
I don't know any latin but if I had to provide a quote it would be "Nil desperandum" which I'm sure means don't worry, one of my philosophies of life.

"Non progredi est regredi"

To not go forward is to go backwards.

I favour::
Magna res est vocis et silentii temperamentum
The great thing is to know when to speak and when to keep quiet

It would be nice if some here would adopt the sentiment...starting with me probably!
Now, how do you say "Practice what you preach" in latin?
