Latin translation, anyone?

Two Latin-y bits I need to know the meaning of, please. 'Laudate dominum (could well be Italian, actually)', and the abbreviation, 'cf.' Thanks!

Laudate dominum (is latin) means 'praise the lord'. cf - confer and means compare to.

My dictionary says cf. is an abbreviation for compare...
Rekstout - yup. cf - abbrieviation for the latin word confer, meaning compare. As above. Sorry if it wasn't clear.
