morning, Friday and the end of the working week for some, I hope that you are all as well as can be and that your day is a pleasant one. Do you have any plans for today? Todays forecast for the capital is a high of 32c with partly sunny skies, if it's anything like yesterday it will be lovely.

Morning, Emmie. Wow, 32 degrees in London. I didn't think that it got that warm in the UK. It got up to 30 here on Thursday, but the humidex was 36! Plan for today is to go shopping for necessities: milk, bread, eggs, margarine and beer.

morning Sanmac
Question Author
yes it does and sometimes warmer, where my brother lives on the SE coast i have sat in their sun trap of a garden where it hit 90 which is not unheard of for them. Our only drawback to hot weather is the humidity which can make it difficult to sleep.
I know what you mean about the humidity. I had the A/C on today, but I turn it off in the bedroom and turn on the large ceiling-fan which keeps it comfortable for sleeping.
morning emmie xx San xx after a lovely start to the day we deteriorated to dark cloud and rain..and more of the wet stuff today .. :0( looking good for next few days though

no such luck, don't have air con, nor any cooling fan, i have been known to chuck the duvet aside and sleep as is. I don't open the windows because of the noise level, so its a tad warm even now

average will be 25c for the week coming, not bad, but don't mind if it's warmer. Can sit out in the local park and chill.
Morning, MM. Both you and Emmie live in a capital city...I should live in Ottawa and then it would be a hat-trick:)
Question Author
you wouldn't want to live there though, too big, and too populated.
Mind you we have close on 10 million who live here and that's oppressive at times.
indeedy San ! soon it will be peak tourist season here as the world comes back for The Edinburgh Festival in August... nightmare time for the Scots !
Ten million people! No thanks; there are about 40,000 where I live, and that's just fine.
Question Author
brings in a lot of wonga though doesn't it Minty, bars, restaurants, venues full to brimming.
Question Author
it's a lot i must admit, but you get used to it, plus one can escape it by going to see family, when the knees are better that's what i hope to do.
it does emmie..but very few of the natives are to be found in them as the prices for everything quadruples to crazy crazy during these months
