I'll just remind Jeeves that popular opinion seems to ordain no crease!
I think I'd call them slacks rather than chinos.
While we are at it, should a man's shirt have a crease down the outside?

I think that if worn with a blazer or hacking jacket a crease would be appropriate to draw attention to your polished brogues.
However if worn with a polo shirt or (heaven help us) a Hawaiian shirt then a crease could be dispensed with.
I think the days of the Crease are well gone Mike, Trousers are made with the Crease in the Cloth, Jean's etc, I put the Iron down the tic side.
