Notwithstanding britton which is obviously correct surely a structure for plants is a trellis. An obelisk is a four sided block of stone ( or a printing dagger )

so wrong on two fronts......

Britten was a typo. I was only making the point that obelisk allthough it seems to be the answer to the crossword is not a garden structure for growing plants over. Perhaps Kate got it wrong when compiling.
It is simply an obelisk 'shaped' structure and the term is used thus, as in my examples above.

You can have a mountain of almost anything but may not find it in the dictionary definition.
wrong - it is a type of garden structure - it doesnt have to be solid, just in the form of.......
