There is some debate on whether or not Winston Churchill said " One day the fascists will return as the anti fascists ", but whoever said it was correct in their look into the future.

The students own leader yesterday needed to be rescued by police from angry protesters chanting anti-Jewish abuse and demanding his resignation.

One can see who the main instigators are 'The Socialist Workers Party' are these not the same bunch, that join other so called anti-fascists groups, to stop other otherwise peaceful protests?

SWP have a habit of turning up at all demos (here in Ireland too) and trying to derail them with their pointless twaddling. But they also tend to turn the mood a bit more violent, hapens a lot for such a small group. They wrecked student protests in Dublin recently and that made sure the message was lost.
In fact you could make a case that they do more to make the opposing views seem reasonable.
As to the 'otherwise peaceful protests' - everyone should protest the marching of the new wave of fascist. They're not all skinheads and NF flags.
a "barrage of anti-Jewish abuse", says the Mail. And what was did this amount to?

"A photographer said he also heard cries of ‘Tory Jew scum’."

Not even a name given for the sole witness to this "barrage".

I think I'd like some more details before I believe this.
I thought it might be a good idea for a change of Newspaper Headline.

oh, that's a nice story, Ron. Shameful in its way, but a happy ending.
I've decided that I do not want to keep having The Daily Mail/Sunday Mail headlines constantly thrust at me.Ron.
well, you can always sing the Daily Mail song, Ron

I eagerly read the link, expecting to find all kinds of anti-semitic quotes and remarks, and the only reference to anti Jewishism is attributed to some reporter/photographer who allegedly heard someone shouting "Tory Jewish scum".

Shock! Horror! Now that's dreadful, at a demonstration with thousands of pent up nutters, to hear such offensive words is really unexpected, innit? Not!

In short, therefore, no one has a clue who, if anyone, actually uttered those words? It conjures up a silly scenario where you can imagine some neanderthal demonstrator trying to think up something horrible to shout:

"Mmmmmhhhh, let me seeeeeee..........ah, yes, got it! He's a Tory, and I hate them!.......Oh, yeah, somebody said he was also Jewish......I hate them as well! So I'll insult him by letting him know my prejudices? He'll never get over that, will he?"

Duh.........................
With its well-documented pro-Nazi, anti-Jewish history, maybe the Mail is just trying to compensate? (A bit late)
/// Are These The True Fascists /// The present Govt ? The Tories are so far rightwing now, I wonder & tremble !!!!
With ref to my previous post, news that the govenment is introducing powers to detain or move people off the streets who are wearing ''Threatening'' clothing (hoodies etc)

The yellow badge (or yellow patch), also referred to as a Jewish badge, was a cloth patch that Jews were ordered to sew on their outer garments in order to mark them as Jews in public. It is intended to be a badge of shame associated with antisemitism.[1] In both Christian and Islamic countries, persons not of the dominant religion were intermittently compelled by sumptuary laws to wear badges, hats, bells or other items of clothing that distinguished them from members of the dominant religious group.

The yellow badge that was compulsory in the Middle Ages was revived by the German Nazis.

Not so far removed is it?.WR.
WR - What an idiotic post.
There are current discussions on how to prevent the proliferation of gang-violence. This is fuelled, in part, by one gang wearing their 'colours,dress-style' into another gangs 'patch' thereby provoking a response............
Hi jth, simply making the point that once a law is made & passed there have always been people who will interperate & bend it to their own will. WR.
Righto............

They are 'gang injunctions'..........gangbos........nothing more sinister.
Whiskeryron...How dare you implicate the Sunday Mail in your accusations..up here in Scotland theSunday Mail is a widely respected left of centre paper....huh....

The Sunday version of the Daily Mail is called The Mail on Sunday to distinguish it from the already established Scottish Sunday Mail.
