I just told my son to use some of his blackhead clearing lotion on his face, unfortunately he wasn't paying attention and used my acetone free nail polish remover. Will it have any harmful effects?

I washed his face immediately with clear water if that makes any difference.

No, it's okay.

It might irritate (and smell) for a bit, but no lasting harm.

He said it stung his face and smelled awful. Poor lad will probably pay closer attention next time!
It may be a bit drying. As long as none got in his eyes-he should be fine.
You should only worry ... when he wants to borrow your acetone to remove his nail polish..!
Look at it this way - it doesn't do any damage when you get it on the skin around your fingernails, does it?

It may smart a little and stink, but it won't do any lasting damage. The only exception is if he has particularly sensitive skin, but then I doubt he'd have been intending to use blackhead lotion if that had been the case.
alavahalf, don't jest. My bloke (who's a performer) gets so sick of his gay mates being treated badly by people who should know better, that if he knows he's got a meeting with a known homophobe, he paints his nails and wears one of his stage earrings. Sometimes. if he's wearing sandals, he'll wear a toe ring as well. You should see them squirm!

I was threatening to paint my son's nails the other day with some new orange nail polish I bought recently, he didn't seem keen on the idea :)
Do you know that a tin of Wood Hardener is Acetone and a lot cheaper than buying little bottles of the stuff.
If its "ACETONE FREE" it will do no harm at all.

Now applying neat ACETONE would have been a whole different story. so Don't worry.
