So how is a reversing camera different from a rear view mirror?

They are both simply rear vision aids.

Aah, okay.

Not me, then.

I have posted a fairly sensible question.

You are allowed to take a driving test in your own car.

I can find no authority for the proposition that your car cannot have a reversing camera.

I have one too, Zacs. That's what made me wonder!

But you can see the road, and you can see your rear bumper.

So you can see when your rear bumper is past the corner of the side road.

And you can guide yourself backwards by the lines on the screen.
