Drylining a fireplace.

I am having a log burner installed in a fireplace on an outside single brick wall. The wall is rendered on the outside. Should I line the fireplace to reduce heat loss, and if so how should I do this please?

if it is a single brick thick Jack ( 4"/105mm) then you ought to insulate the whole wall
