You use a public toilet and wash your hands before you leave,(I hope). That, maybe a waste of time, the person leaving in front of you may not have washed theirs. What is the last thing you do before you leave the building ?Use the door handle. How many times have you seen a person leaving without using the tap..Yuk...

i never use public toilets if i can help it, if I have to I open the door with folded tissue

most public loos here are 'open' entrance if ye know what I mean, turnstyle type thing so thats not an issue

I do the same as Cazzz and I always use the towels that I wipe my hand with to turn the tap off. If there isn't towels I was the tap with the soap.

Of late I have started carrying a small bottle of that hand gel with me, it's really good and creates abarrier.

I always carry wet wipes. I get one out in the cubicle and use it to open door then I wipe hands and use it again to open main door and only then do I throw it away in nearest bin. I hate those stupid hand-dryers and wet/damp hands are horrible.
