Absolutely not, she's a terrible cook. I would however make them a curry like my dads when they're old enough (I wonder if there's an age rating when children should have their first spicey curry?) if/when I ever have children.
My mum's meals (if we even got any) usually consisted of jam sandwiches and a packet of biscuits(between 7 of us),followed by being told to bu@@er off out and don't come back until dark. At least in the kids homes I was in I got fed!
My dad always cooked Christmas dinner, made the mince pies and sausage rolls and made wedding cakes for friends and family. He was in the catering corps in the army and was a great cook. Wished he'd been there to cook dinner every day but unfortunately he was at work.
My mum's Sunday roasts were my absolute favourites, still are. There are also lots of meals that I now refuse to make because they never taste like her's and I always end up being disappointed and not eating them.
My mum's tatty soup is also one of my all time faves so much so that she makes up big batches and I get some for my freezer so I can have it whenever I want. Thanks Mum!
Yes,unfortunately poodi! I have nothing to do with her now though, she ruined my childhood and I won't allow her to ruin any more of my life! I have strived to be everything in life that she failed at and my kids are my pride and joy.
daffy i got broken biscuits and a cup of tea, that was my dinner most nights,we were poor(5)kids,1 tin of beans between us and bread and marge, but we were really happy and lots of good memories and have a laugh about it now
Eegods, no! My mum used to load the gravy with stuffing mix. As if that wasn't enough, she would cook every single vegetable down to a pulp, whereupon she would dish it up with an ice-cream scoop.
Nothing was ever grilled - always fried, and eggs were never cooked unless the fat from the pan was splashed over them and the edges cooked to a fine black lace effect.
The list of my mum's culinary crimes is too long to reproduce in full here, but you get the idea.
