I've just booked a 3-day break, 24th to 27th December, in a country house hotel.

This is the first time we have gone away for Christmas. Hubby's always wanted to do it.

How about you? Do you like to stay at home or would you like to spend Christmas in a luxury hotel?

Hi Mrs C,

Yeah, probably down to Gib & back !

(same as every week !)
I would love to get away, not just for Christmas, just get away, but dont wanna go on my own :(
I would love to spend xmas in a luxury hotel in a foreign country preferrably one with lots of snow. where are u heading to are u taking me!!!
I'd like to go to where Drisgirl went to - Iceland.
Once stayed in Spain for 10 days over Christmas, and it was lousy. It rained for 7 days out of the time we were there.
I love Christmases at home.

We're not going far, it's near York - Have you heard of York, pink?

It's an itinerary of non-stop eating! Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, evening meal. And I'm supposed to be on a diet!

Therema, have you no-one you could pal up with?

I know where you're coming from Ice.

I dragged my feet about booking somewhere, but now I've booked, I'm quite excited about it.
I would like to go someplace warm-where Christmas isn't celebrated.......like Marrakesh!!
York's a beautiful city chappie - lots of things to see and do as well.
Hope you enjoy your break. Sounds like the hotel's a nice place, and at least you won't have to cook! Hey....I might reconsider!!!
Pink - you're being greedy. You've just had a fantastic holiday, with more to come - and I don't blame you at all! : )
Sounds great tho' Mrs C -

Just think of all that washing up you won't have to do !!
exactly - unless she has one over the eight and disgraces herself. then she might be asked to help out in the kitchen!! Lol. x
i'd love to go to the ice hotel, husky sleding or even back to aus for xmas on the beach!!! york sounds fab i have been there once it was nice and quaint
pastafreak, I had a great Xmas in Istanbul long ago. Very cheap because in those days nobody travelled around Dec 25 so it counted as low season. Now it's high season and much dearer. But they didn't care anything about Christmas and everything was open. It was very exotic in those days too.
I'd prefer to have some cold weather at Christmas, pink, or better still - some snow. On that Spanish trip, even though it was cloudy for a week, it still didn't feel like Christmas as we know it. I like to decorate with lights, have a huge fire going, pull crackers and all the rest of it, and it's nice when the family can get together - although that's not always possible.
I think chappie's chosen a good place to get away for a few days. York IS quaint, but also great for shopping and eating out.
mm you set me thinkin there are some good offfers on hotels in iceland over xmas!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, but then you'd miss your NY trip, probably. Plan one for Easter or something?
LOL-thought you were heading to NY after Xmas,pink......are ya going for broke and doing both????
wow
Mrs C, you lucky thing!!!

I have always wanted to stay in a hotel at christmas and not someone else's house!!!.

No cooking, bliss!!

Hope you have a lovely time.
