I have decided that I will wait till I am 21 then take some bike lesson - I am going to start saving now.

Firstly do I have to take a bike theory if I already have a car one and

Secondly, could you suggest some good bikes that would suit, as I know nothing about them.

I am 5foot 6 and a woman, so heavy and big and manly is a no no. I don't want anything that looks square and old either. I guess the cc doesn't really matter as I want it for fun not speed but I don't want it to sound like a hairdryer. Oh and not too expensive

Any suggestions?

I assume you mean the highway code theory test. If you have already got a car licence then you won't have to do one for the bike. Over 21 you can do what is known as "direct access".

As for the the bike, I would suggest one of the new mid range upright 600's (go naked, not you the bike!) either the Bandit 600/Fazer 600 or the Honda Hornet 600. All superb machines very reliable comfortable and practical not to mention an absolute Hoot!
I agree with looshead's answer but you do have to do the motorbike theory test, take a mock test here............
