Anyone know how to stop your clothes pilling in the washing machine? It is driving my friend mad as every time she washes her clothes they end up bobbly. we live in a very hard water area apparantly, she has tried washing them inside out, not tumble drying them, changing her washing powder...all to no avail. If anyone knows of any remedies PLEASE let me know, as it is driving her crazy and me crazier hearing about it!!Lol!

Cheers :O)

Pilling is normally caused by the dry fabric rubbing against itself or another fabric. I just wonder if the washing machine is starting up well before any water is let in. As a test, see if wetting the clothes first makes any difference. She could also try a liquid detergent instead of a powder, as well as turning the clothes inside out.
