Everyone says to clean your teeth twice a day, so is cleaning them 3 times a day (including after lunch) bad?

no but it may be unnecessary and cause your gums to bleed if you have receding gums or the wrong type toothbrush. and god knows why I answered this,

I doubt 3 times will take the enamel off of your teeth, but it could. My mother cleaned her teeth so often that it took the white enamel off her teeth and caused her teeth to look yellow, so she had to have them permanently whitened. She's never had a cavity or anything. Great teeth

Brush twice a day, and chew a sugarless gum with xylitol in it, and you'll be just fine.

Latest research has shown, that complete removal of plaque once in every 24 hour period is adequate to prevent dental decay and gum disease. However most dentists would advise twice a day with good reason. Salivary flow is lower at night and so confers less protection so usually the advice is once in the morning and once at night. There is no reason why you couldn't brush 3 times a day, I do. Unless your using an overly abrasive technique or toothpaste then you can only really benefit. I would advise a fluoride toothpaste and the use of floss however.
