What is the origin of the expression 'post-prandial', and what does 'prandial' mean?

From Latin prandium, late breakfast... therefore after breakfast....
I think - however the Romans may have used it - it's most likely to mean after dinner (or, less often, lunch) these days.
I always thought it could be any meal.
I believe Prandial is any meal, latin prandium, Iam not certain though, but post-prandial, I think means after dinner, Have heard expression post-prandial speeches
