No I dont think it can go off in an aerosol can.
The flies around hear - I'm sure they sniff it up like Coke because it certainly has no effect what-so-ever. Wasps seem to succumb, but flies, no.
is there a 'kill by' date on the can?
Arggg! around' here'

I sure you aint bothered but some folks will dwell on it all day :-)
Douglas, if you look real, real close, you'll see that those pesky fruit flies wear gas masks (some even have scary faces painted on them). You have to catch them and remove their masks before spraying them. Then, if it still doesn't work, hit them with the can.
i here you
^
Forgot to add; to remove said masks you'll need a good magnifying glass, a pair of tweezers and an adjustable spanner.
Fly spray is useless. The best method is a tin of cheap hair lacquer. It glues their wings so they can't fly anymore and drop to the ground.
I found that fly spray was useless against fruit flies.I got some old fashioned fly paper which does work.
^^
And die with their barnet still looking good :-)

Because they're worth it.

Thanks all, so far, maybe just stop buying fruit and spend the money on the liquid end products. :-)
I agree about old-fashioned fly paper. Might be a bit hard to find these days but Amazon sell it.
Time to start worrying, Douglas, is when the flies turn up with knives with which to peel the fruit.

Or stick to your head :-)
Imagine if fly spray went off: there’d be a special advice for flies:
“Only use after the ‘best by’ date”
I tried fly paper a few years ago...useless.
I just use any handy spray...dettol in the kitchen, inexpensive body spray elsewhere. It works.
This reminds me of Michael Bentine's flea circus act - Potty Time.
