Do you keep your weight and size private. Nearly all my friends do hence I can't buy them any kind of clothing.

Another birthday looming for one of my friends in two weeks and no idea what to get.

I don’t but I suppose clothes is a personal choice JJ
What about a kaftan?
It's not something that comes up in conversation but if asked I'd be open.

A nice silk scarf?

I know clothes are very personal and I do believe it is very difficult to buy for another person, find it hard enough to buy for myself?

Can't wait for thrifty to open to get rid of clothes ie with tabs still on them.
Why not just send them a voucher for their favourite shop.
yes and no. alas after being carted off to hospital a few weeks ago, they weighed me, i know roughly what i weigh but for others to know whew.

what about some Amazon vouchers, then they can get whatever they fancy.

that's an idea Mamy but it's a big birthday - she has made it known she absolutely wants nothing, I have actually asked the daughter and she doesn't know either.

I used to care but I don't now. All I say buy the biggest of the biggest for me.
If a friend made it cleat she wanted absolutely nothing then I'd be inclined to donate to a Charity that may be close to her heart.

I'm taking a rest here, am thoroughly spring cleaning, all curtains down from the 3 bedrooms, am exhausted cos I can't get the left arm to go very high. Off the beaten track (LOL)

Got lovely new white duvet covers (pin tuck). Very nice but am going to need a hand to get the king on. (size that is). I'll get my niece.
No, my family all know what size I am. They wouldn't buy me clothes anyway.

If one is thin then that person is easily fitted.
no one buys me clothes thank heavens.
>>> Do you keep your weight and size private

Height: 180 cm
Weight (fully clothed): 86.2 kg
Waist size: 38"
Inside leg: 30"
Shoe size: 9
Collar size: 16"
Hat size: Large

Er, does that answer your question?

BTW, it's my birthday next week, so what are you going to buy me?

;-)
just send me a marquee, jj, it'll fit, as long as it's not a small marquee
When I've bought presents for friends, I've often taken a photograph of the recipient into the shop with me and relied upon the advice of the store assistant.

For example, when shown a picture of the guy I think of as my son, several different shop assistants have said "He's clearly an extra large". When shown a photograph of his mother, an assistant in Sainsbury's Tu clothing department said, "Well, she's probably about a size 14 waist but - erm, how shall I put this? - she's clearly a somewhat larger lady higher up. I'd go for a size 18 top, if I was you".

I sent someone an M and S flower gift. They have some lovely ones with flowers, biscuits Prosecco etc
a couple of years ago my brother sent me a lovely gift box, it contained champagne, beautiful flowers and good quality chocs.
I don't want people to buy me clothes. I have got one good friend with excellent taste and she, and my sister buy me clothes, but rarely and know my size, but apart from that no and I have no idea what I weigh.
