Is moaning a direct result of an increase in number of things that deserve a good moan, or is moaning directly proportional to advancing years?
I find so much more to moan about, and my beloved Mrs T likes to moan at me for moaning!
'' Stop your moaning you silly old fool!''

''Hey! Less of the old!''

I don't think its an age thing....there are young moaners in abundance.
Agree Woofgang! And whilst us old moaners just get overlooked, young moaners are much more vociferous and demanding, and share their moans more widely.
It is probably because you do not have enough to occupy you like you did 30 years ago. You were busy doing a job and raising your family and making home.
Now you don’t do that, trivial stuff like your Home Delivery is late become enormous annoyances.
My OH used to be a live and let live guy, now he moans over everything. Nothing is right, too hot, too cold, too wet, if only this, if only that - its driving me nuts. Its most certainly 'old man' syndrome. Ive gone the other way, I really couldn't care a less now, I just treat every day as a bonus since I recovered from Covid-19
Oh yes, I definitely moan more now I am no longer a 'spring chicken'!!
I think it's a lot to do with personality as well.
no point in moaning, it changes nothing
Oh if only it was that simple Bobbi!

Maybe I'm missing the pub :-(
Not been in one for sooooooooo long :-(
And I'll tell you another thing ...............
yes, rant and shout get it out of ones system .... then breath
I'll moan to myself...but I try not let others suffer. It's pointless most of the time...but sometimes necessary.
Bobbi its tiring though living with someone who manages to find something to moan about on daily basis. The other day I said 'you know what? I bet if you won a couple of grand on the lotto you'd moan it wasn't the jackpot' ....and he agreed. The other day I suggested if he was that unhappy with his life, he should go sling his hook and find out what it was like to really have something to moan about lol! That cheered him up for a while ;-)
Same here Pasta. But a good moan with my best friend on a regular basis is great. We know each other so well and know we have each other to get things off our chest. We usually end up laughing.

I went back to the pub when they reopened, but I have stopped. The experience is now pretty horrible with all the new regs.

I cannot imagine being regulated whilst having a pint and a good moan, and listening to everybody else moaning, then the laughing erupting as the jokes do the rounds!
Such an important part of our great British culture!
Brexit? Corbyn! The Reds, the Blues? Great arguments.
Missing it all .......

Aren't brown envelopes usually full of folding ?
a good old slanging match normally clears the air here with a few expletives for good measure haha
Our pub is great. They have a one way system - an ‘in’ door and a separate ‘out’ door - and we have to sanitize our hands before going in and wear masks until we’re sitting down but once settled, no problem at all. Orders for drinks and food are taken by a waitress and brought to the table.

Yes, many old people do moan a lot.
Gave up slanging matches years ago. They weren't worth it. I just got angry and he walked away. He is calm, balanced and sensible. and I am not. A good match really!
