A black-jack dealer and player with a 13 count in his hand were discussing whether or not it was appropriate to tip the dealer.

The player said that when he was dealt a bad hand it was not the dealer’s fault, and by the same token when he got good cards it was not due to anything the dealer did.

The dealer responded that when people eat out, they invariably tip the waiter – the waiter is serving patrons food, while I’m serving customers cards, and therefore I should be tipped the same as a waiter.

OK, said the player, but a waiter gives me what I ask for – I’ll take an 8 please.
