Ok...so you've gone done memory lane via smows thread below. Have you ever looked up an old BF/GF, husband or wife.
I discovered a few years ago that my first husband died back in 1992...the same year I lost my mum and sister. I just googled the name of my first BF, and it looks like he died rather young...just 33.
My second husband lives a few miles from me...I've googled him just to see what he was doing career wise.

But if you google the name of a acquaintance , without a photo, it could be someone else with the same name. It amazes me however obscure a name is there are often tens of people with the same name.
Yes. I was told an old girlfriend of mine was to be found on Friends United by another old mate. I wrote to her and suggested a meet as she lived in East Grinstead which was about a 40 minute drive. She wrote back it was not possible as she was in the last days of terminal cancer.I heard no more.

Oh goodness retro, that's rather sad.
APG...I'm making the assumption we know or have a memory of the person's birth date and place of birth...or possibly have an idea of their eventual career choice.
Just the one, Pasta and he was as gorgeous all these years later as when we dated.......sickening!.... ;-)
That way lies madness. To be avoided at all costs.
Just as a matter of interest where can you look someone up using their DOB/POB? Genuinely interested as I'm searching for someone at the moment and drawing blanks.
APG - have you tried Ancestry. They do a 30 day free trial
Sorry. I think I misinterpreted your question.
I've never googled their names, but I have searched for them on Facebook.
rocky, I'm not sure if that would work. I'm looking for any records to do with someone who died in 2005, even an obituary. We had an apprentice years ago a lovely lad, great work ethic and fun to be around. I'd always though he'd just gone his own way after finishing his apprenticeship -perhaps gone abroad, but someone who knew him told me last year he'd died in 2005, he would have only been around 30 and I want to check if there are any records.
Found a few, one dead, one had remarried, my first husband has a wind surfing school in the Canaries, .... Old friends have been more interesting
That's sad APG. It's horrible when you don't know, isn't it.
Apg. Have you tried FreeBMD?
Yes, i've googled him!! Lives other side of London to me. Thank Christ!
I facebooked the love of my life. His photo comes up as his children and grandchildren. He married a really nice girl and am glad he married her cos I know I would have resented rearing somebody else's children. He was a widower with 2 children aged 3 and 5. He also had the nick of the dick so I would not have been able to have my own.
I only have 7 old loves - 2 died young, 2 I'm still in touch with, I I live with now, 1 I googled and couldn't find and one I refuse to ever look for as he ripped me to shreds emotionally and I don't want to know what he's up to now.
Yes. His name cropped up on the local FB group so I looked him up. Curiosity got the better of me and I messaged him (hadn't had contact for 28 years).

Last year I married him.

A happy ending, BM
oh that's great BM.
I sad to find that my last love before I got married committed suicide, supposedly as she was scared her dementia was progressing to fast.
