That is nice, some might have preferred a free toilet roll.

Nice gesture by Tesco. Pity some of our lowlifes have tried to gatecrash some Tesco stores that have opened purely for NHS staff and other key workers.

that's nice. I wish they could give out free masks as well, proper medical ones, as it doesn't appear all NHS staff have them, but I don't suppose Tescos stock them.

No, they don't stock them.

There hasn't been any need for supermarkets to stock and sell 'proper surgical masks'.

All a mask would do is stop cough or sneeze fluid from landing on your mask area. It would also remind you to not touch your face. Apart from that, the virus is air born.
