I have just looked at my online banking account and I cannot believe that a payment of £7.99 has been taken out of my account for the Amazon Prime.

Not in a million years did I apply for this.

Can anybody tell me how to contact Amazon Prime and get the payment refunded and cancelled. Thanks

You've done this Dec, Jan, and Feb.

You're going to have to make sure the box for prime isn't ticked.

Ummmm - what do you mean I've done this for Dec Jan Feb - are you saying last year. I don't remember that - it happened once to me a few years ago and I was able to get out of it very quickly but can't remember how I did it.
Sorry I wasn't looking at the years.

This is the 3rd time anyway.

Just looked at the Prime notice and it says this

/////You have unused Prime benefits////

I just want out of it.
Amazon- 0800 279 7234
This is the number google brings up 0800 496 1081
The number I gave is one I have used many times.
Unfortunately the way payments and delivery methods are set up on Amazon, it's very easy to "sign up" to Prime without realising. You must have done so at least a month ago...I think the first month is a free trial. Though that may only be for new users.
I got stung a few years ago.
Rang them and got out.
easily done i might add. give them a call.
It is an absolute con. Check carefully when buying from amazon, there is an option to pay without Prime benefits.

They automatically sign you up, it should be unlawful.
Go to amazon, scroll down and click on HELP and then click on Manage Prime. You can then cancel.
"They automatically sign you up, it should be unlawful."

That would be unlawful but as they don't, they're fine.

well have cancelled as per whistonian's post - I couldn't ring them as I can't hear properly. Anyway since I was stung before I am very careful of the Prime and I know I didn't choose it per se. My last order from them was November 2019.

MartinMillar - didn't know you knew me so well but according to the link you provided that last cancellation of the Amazon was 3 years ago.
Amazon must be so sick of having to cancel these mistaken sign ups but I assume it's worth it to them so they carry on. Once you know that on every order there is a (admittedly small) link that says continue without amazon prime it's fairly easy to remember to always use that route.

that's right Prudie and I am very careful and aware of that wee tiny link - I avoid it like the plague so I don't know what happened. Anyway all is well (I hope)
Jj, it may have been the postage you chose. If it was express or one day, Prime may not have been indicated at that step.
When I was signed up (without even completing a purchase) I got an email to say I had a free trial for a month. I emailed back to say I didn't want it and please cancel it at once, which they did with an apology. I kept the email as proof and checked my account after a month to make sure they hadn't taken any payment.
The point I'm making rather long- windedly is a) if you had been signed up to Prime you would have been told and b) try and get some proof of your transactions. So the £7.99 may not be a monthly subscription.
