The things are leaving primary school this year and they always do a leaver’s play thing (to fill up the long, empty days after SATs with rehearsals) - they have both got two parts each so I’m spending the evening searching eBay for four costumes and accessories :(

Make sure you take lots of photos of them in their costumes. You’ll look back fondly in time to come.
I’m not sure mums were responsible for making/buying school play costumes when I were a girl.
what are they dressing as ?
Blimey, times have changed. It was a tea towel wrapped around your head and maybe an old bed sheet draped over your shoulder for the class nativity play when I was kid ;-)

What type of costumes are you after, sherr.

I need a guard (all in black - just need a long sleeve T-shirt), a sheikh (had a further message that school are providing these - phew), a bandit (have lost the required sunglasses and need a red short sleeved T-shirt and long red socks) and a hand maiden outfit (currently looking for kids belly dancing outfits - got the ‘gold’ bangles in my shopping basket).
Oh I miss that, Sherr.......so many costumes for mine and the kids at my school.
The one that flummoxed me was seven year old son coming home telling me he needed a costume for his part as the Near Hatter???? That was as much as he knew...was there a Far Hatter.....Middle Distance Hatter......?
I called into ask his teacher what a Near Hatter would wear.....
She looked at me in the same puzzled way I had looked at my not paying enough attention son....

He was.....The Narrator........ :-(

Near Hatter!

All done, £22.91 and I didn’t have to go to the shops :)
Well done, sherr.
my 7 year old s moving up to "big" school in september. We have the dance show, the choir show, drama club play, school disco, year 2 "performance" and eavers church service. We are expected to attend all!!!!

Bednobs - I sympathise, I have this play and the leavers’ assembly to attend (and maybe a leavers’ picnic if some bright spark makes the suggestion - the last one was painful) and sports morning (already postponed from tomorrow). But that’s it, I’ve done my lot x 4 (one upside of having twins is that I can combine their events) (thankfully they are not sporty, musical or into drama so I’ve avoided all of that).
oh, I also forgot the summer fair, and numerous transition days/visits to new school
