shouldnt that be - - - washed away /

Jesus the track you have put on is ... a bit derivative isnt it ?
I remember seeing KE with The Nice - at Birmingham Town Hall - he eventually got bored with his Hammond and attacked the ornate monster of a classical organ that has been there for donkeys years - I don't think it had ever produced such sounds before (or indeed since).
When i was in the army both my friend and i were deep into 'prog' rock. One of my fav bands were Yes (who he had no time for), whilst his favs were ELP (who i had no time for). Nevertheless i recognise a god of the keyboards when i see one. RIP Keith Emerson.

Derivative ? They used a piece by Aaron Copland, and wove a performance around it. They brought some music to a new audience who would probably never have heard of it before. The Nice did it with West Side Story.
this one suicide !

Yes, MM...just heard on the Today Program. Very sad.
Here is Aaron Copeland's original , which I prefer

He'd recently started suffering with a degenerative nerve issue in his right hand which meant that he could use only 8 fingers for playing the keyboards and was thus depressed. I'm currently listening to the eponymous 1970 album feeling mighty sad.
