My mother was convinced I was a boy and was going to call me John. She had no girls names in mind and my two forenames were taken from twin girls belonging to the woman in the next bed! (I should be thankful mum wasn't in a room on her own or I could have been called "the water in this tap is very hot" or worse)

Murray, did you get two lots of pressies?
(My cousin's son is the same - they do Xmas in the morning and birthday in the afternoon)
My mum didn't have any names. She thought she'd decide once I was born. The nurse gave me a temp name and it stuck.
My mum didn't name me until she was on her way to the Registery Office. I was a month old.
Always get two pressure from mum and dad...but that's for both from everyone else ! :-(
By the sounds of it Ummmm, they were still thinking about it when it stuck.
What shall I call her? Ummmm
Edward, Teddy for short
murray were you born on Christmas day>
Emmie..at 3.05 pm...during queen' s speech !
bet she was surprised
The queen ? ..Lol...
Lol Ratter.

My sister has quite an unusual name and mine is just very bland...
mine is awful, i have always hated it.
Jeremy. No offence to Jeremys meant but thank heavens I was born a girl.
My mother (although will never admit it) wanted a girl, and had 3 boys! Ofcourse she loves us dearly but she is a very "girly" mother and I think she always wanted a little sidekick in a male dominated home!
Anyway, if I had of been a girl, apparently I would have been "Elizabeth" after her grandmother, my great grandmother.
I would have been called Christopher had I been a boy. Mum had a handful of names lined up but dad didn't like any of them one of them I like but with my last name it would have been quite funny so I'm glad they didn't choose that! In the end he chose my name but we don't know where it came from.
They never said but there must have been a very good chance it would have been the name given to my younger sister, surely ?
William, after both my granddads. Then I would have been Billy instead of Tilly.
Don't laugh but I would have been Brian. Sorry to any Brians out there but it just reminds me now of that robot on Confused.com.
Mum thought I was going to be a boy and I was going to be Christopher she obviously hadn't thought of girls names because I became Christine.
