Since he slipped in the snow in November 2010. Until then he got the neighbours papers every day. Since then he has had a stroke (not major) but debilitating. He used to go and sit and talk with them. Since his fall NOT one person has been round to ask after him. Today I cajoled him to let me get him out of the house. It took about 10 mins to get from the front door to the car. We drove for miles through the country. We even had icecream. When we got back we were both knackered. It was lovely getting him out again. Then came a knock at the door. "I have reported you to the council and the police for parking on the pavement" My reply.......Answers on a postcard.

O Jeza how horrible for you after your nice day together. Some people are so unkind to others, they must know how ill your hubby has been. What did you actually say to them? I do hope you let rip and made them feel guilty but I doubt they will.
OMG! How awful. I honestly feel people get their comeuppance, albeit in a while. Poor Micmak.
Some people are just jobsworth busybodies....
Where do you live, I am quite happy to come round and give them a piece of my mind (of your behalf). There's not much of me, but that's usually an advantage in a verbal fight. xxx to Mic and yourself.
Who knocked on your door? Barstewards!!

that's terrible Jeza..I really don't know what's happened to the 'neighbourly'
attitude these days...xxx
really sorry to hear that jesa, how can people be so horrible and nasty.
I wish Micmak and yourself good health xx
People are so damned thoughtless at times and when you are at your lowest ebb it stings so badly Jeza.

Big ((HUGS)) to you and to Mic ♥

I know what you are going through.
Nice one Jeza, hope you threw a few fecks into the reply

Thanks for you support. The woman who knocked on my door was the mother who charged everyone £1 for getting everyone a paper when mic did it for free. Maybe some of you will remember that post. If I tell you verbatim what I said I too will be banned Suffice is to say it was not the language of a lady.
Good, and I hope you told her WHY you parked on the pavement, too. God forbid it ever happens to her.

Grrrrrrrr...

I know what my reply would have been but I can't post it here.

My very best wishes to both you & micmak.
I don't know what you're area is like, but my dad had problems parking,
he was disabled. There was never anywhere for him to park, could never
park outside his own..so eventually got the council to put an area on the
pavement at the bottom of his flat with the number of the flat 'parking only
for ..... is there anything you can do via the council?
^^should say that it was not obstructing..a sort of driveway.

Thanks everyone for understanding. Mic said it was the best day for years. That will do me. Good night and thanks.

Jeza, what a lovely story but with a sting in the tale.
I'm sorry to hear Micmak is poorly but glad you are there to put a ray of sunshine in his life. I used to like to read his posts & he's missed.
Give him my good wishes & tell him Jem will remember him in her prayers. God Bless.

Jem
There are times when ladylike just doesn't cut it.
What a scunner! It has probably set back any recuperation, and micmak will be reluctant to go along with any outings.
So sorry for you both.
